Colin, great idea! One of the great things about development is first imagining a idea and then figuring out how to make it a reality! She has some pretty interesting things going on. It gives me a few ideas. Thanks for sharing.

Might be cool to combine this with the User profile service Org data. SPServices in itself does not provide an easy (performant) way of getting the org. tree but Anita posted a nice "workaround" by using SPServices and Search to get all user and Department info. It should be easy to recursively parse the result to create a JSON treestructure, which can then be used to populate a google DataTable.
If an org is to big, populate a department node of the chart on demand (maybe even build the department tree only first), if the google chart API supports that (?).

Anita's article on using SPServices and Search to get org data (relevant code is under the "Activity of employees in own or a selectable department" header):

That's strange. I don't get it. Have you tried it again, lately? Try typing it in by hand. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks for checking though...

Good point! Yes - I was doing this on a dev machine. That environment tended to get get corrupted more than others, especially since it was a shared dev environment. A couple of thoughts. From my understanding, this will only clear the modifications that are in queue that have not been applied. That would mean that the corrupt entry was in queue and not yet applied to the web.config. I guess there is a chance that you could clear out any legitimate entries that might have been backed up because of the bogus entry but then you should have received an error from those entries also. From what I can tell, this does not remove any web.config entries that have already been committed to the web.config. Those entries have to be removed by code.

Thanks for your comment.
