  • The first (of hopefully many) Omaha SharePint! Upstream May 10, 2012

SharePoint by day, SharePint by nightIn the process of organizing our monthly Omaha SharePoint User Group meetings I just tossed out an idea to have a regular SharePint.  If you don’t already know what a SharePint is, please read this article by Christian Buckley.  We decided to have our first SharePint at the Upstream Brewery at about 171st and Center on May 10 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. There’s no requirement to be there the whole time and there’s no requirement to drink adult beverages.  We are hoping to provide a more social way for anyone who wants to meet other users of Microsoft SharePoint.

We’ll be upstairs by the pool tables.  This is a non-sponsored event so all refreshments are totally your responsibility!

  • February 27 – Omaha User Group Presentation – The SharePoint SweetSpot – Links

If you attended the February Omaha SharePoint User Group meeting, Thank You!  We had 32 people show up for a great lunch provided by QCI and I hope you also learned something you can bring back to your organization.  Thank you to Bass & Associates, Kerry Dirks and Steve Wright for providing prizes!

    Some notes:

    Presenters

We’re always looking for presenters.  With our format of alternating between Technical content and then User-centric content, we need all sorts of presenters and all sorts of topics.  For example, in April, you will learn about an Agile Project Tracking site that one of our members created.  If you are interested in presenting at one of our upcoming meetings, please send an email to [email protected], or just leave me a comment on this blog.

    Sponsors

We have had great response from our professional community to help sponsor prizes and food for our meetings.  If you would like to sponsor one of our future meetings or would like to sponsor some door prizes, please send an email to [email protected] or leave me a comment below!  We truly appreciate our sponsors!

    Links

OK – now for the links I know you all came here for:  I didn’t have much in the way of slides but the links at the end of the slides are on my presentation page.  I think I will also start collecting links of no-code or little-code resources for future reference!  Enjoy.

  • Omaha SharePoint User Group

I presented at the Omaha SharePoint User Group last night (12/16/2009).  Good meeting and a great discussion.  I did the same presentation that I did at SharePoint Saturday – Kansas City.  One thing I did find out was that my tag that has my contact information was password protected.  Talk about a downer.  Here’s a cool little application that allows mobile phone users to capture information using their phone camera and then my tag doesn’t work.  Oh well.  Not everything can go perfectly.  I have updated my tag settings and updated the tag on this website in case someone wants to try it again.  Let me know if you use the TAG and what your results were.
